Plymouth Road Runner


The 1969 Road Runner retained virtually the same look with some exceptions like the taillights , grille, side marker lights , optional bucket seats , and new labels Road Runner.

The Road Runner added a new model to the lineup for those seeking the wind in your hair and the sun on your face with 2,128 drop -tops are producing . All were 383S , except for ten convetibles 426ci Hemi. Six of them were cars that accommodate four to be manual 4 speed .

The choice of hand-shaped air introduced and consisting of a set of air duct fiberglass bolted to the bottom of the bell is connected to dual gridded rectangular upwardly directed ventilation in the fume hood with screens orange. When the bell adjustment rubber stamp on the large oval unsilenced air cleaner closed . A decal with Wile E. Coyote said, " Coyote Duster" was at the top of the air filter. The vents can be opened manually by a lever under the dash labeled " Carb Air. "

A mid-year 440ci with 3 × 2 Holley carburetors (A12 ) was presented as an option. Several of the cars were running in Super Stock Eliminator drag racing competition. The wheels were the wheels of simple black steel nuts chrome and fiber hood glass lift-off was 4 hood pins and a functional hood tablespoon with a red sticker on each side that says " 440 6BBL . " This engine was rated 390 horsepower and 490 lb -ft of torque.

440 V8 375 hp @ 4600 rpm, 480lb-ft @ 3200 rpm.
440+6 V8 390 hp @ 4700 rpm, 490 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm.
426 Hemi V8 425 hp @ 5000 rpm, 490 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm.
Performance:
426 Hemi w/425 hp: 0-60 in 5.3 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.55 sec @ 105mph
